Tesbih çekmek sünnettir. Tesbih aletinin kendisi bid’at mi diye soruluyorsa, Peygamber efendimiz zamanında tesbihler, parmakla, çekirdekle, taşla sayarak tesbih çekiliyordu. Resulullah efendimiz, bir kadının tesbihleri, çekirdeklerle saydığını görmüş, fakat men etmemiştir. Âlimler buradan tesbih kullanmanın caiz olduğunu bildirmişlerdir. Mekanik veya elektronik numaratör denilen alet ile tesbih çekmekte caizdir. İslam âlimleri de bu izne uyarak tesbih hazırlamışlar, tesbih bid’at değildir.
